Our latest installation gave us a bit of a 'shock' when looking for a suitable place to pick up a supply for the new loft light. Generally go for an existing loop-in/loop-out ceiling rose. By pure chance the one we picked for this job turned out to be a light fitting that was a non UK approved fitting. Result was a makeshift and electrically unsatisfactory termination of the lighting cables. Needless to say we sorted the wiring out and have light in the loft.
(Only Live conductors terminated in a connector block. Earth and Neutrals just twisted together).
