At Lemontrade we believe you should not pay more than the true costs of employing a Tradesman nor should you pay a higher price for materials than the price you could achieve yourself? If this sounds a reasonable statement then why not contact Lemontrade to discuss your next project?

We do not believe in applying arbitrary percentage mark ups to materials or inflating our hourly rate to cover the costs of things such as estimating or research or operating overheads. We know that for most projects the final cost recovery for these so called free activities when using a 'mark up' is often far greater than the time actually spent estimating or undertaking a piece of design. Furthermore, such practices cloud transparency and hinder any form of scrutiny.

For us, we feel a more common sense and fair approach is to identify each project activity and apportion the associated costs for undertaking a project activity to that project. We will itemise the time spent for all tasks including providing the estimate or undertaking research, but will charge this effort at a realistic hourly rate. The follow on benefit is that you can be assured of also paying a realistic rate for the actual work undertaken and or materials consumed.

Sticking to our open principles, we will recharge any materials used at their shelf or catalogue published prices which includes passing on any multi-buy savings to our clients. All hours spent undertaking the project will be recorded on time sheets and will form the basis for invoicing the labour element of the project.

SUPPORTING RATE INFORMATION

Helping you make sense of what we offer and what we charge.

Hourly rates quoted above for on site work are per person.
Time for on-site work commences upon arrival at site.
The maximum hourly rate we charge is £30 per hour.
Our rate for ordering materials, finding least cost material prices, identifying options and setting out cost implications for each option, providing written estimates is £25 per hour.
We are happy to undertake project work outside of the times stated above. However revised hourly rates may apply. Please ask for our current extended hours rates if you wish to take us up on this service.
To cover a contribution towards our operating overheads* a fixed fee of £0.65 per project hour spent will be added to the final invoice.
We aim to recycle materials wherever we can by either donating materials to organisations or re-purposing the materials and selling them through our Micro shop.
Any materials that we cannot re-use will need to be disposed of at a Household Waste Centre. Disposal charges incurred will be recharged at cost. Depending on the type of waste material deposited, different charges apply. Please ask so we can advise on the likely charges.
Where a dedicated journey to dispose of project waste at a Household waste centre is made a fixed charge of £35 will be made for up to 1.5m3 of waste. A pro rata charge will be made if a waste disposal journey is shared with other client projects.
Travel time and fuel charges may be charged where travel time from Office to Site is greater than 30 minutes and or greater than 15 miles. Our current rate for mileage is £0.25 per mile and time will be charged on a pro rata basis equivalent to £22 per hour.
For "Small Works", defined as a project of up to 1 hour in duration, a minimum charge or 2 hours will be made and Travel/Fuel charges will apply for journeys greater than 15 minutes and or greater than 6 miles.
All time will be recorded on a Time Sheet/ staff diary.
Total time spent on site will be rounded up to next full half hour.

*Operational Overheads include Public Liability Insurance, Trade Waste Carrier Registration fee, Professional Institute Fees, Business Insurance premiums, Equipment/Tool maintenance & servicing.
